RACHEL POULIN, RVT, VTS (SAIM)
Hello and Welcome! I'm Rachel. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician that is specialized in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
I graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Columbus State Community College in 2007. I did my extern rotations at The Ohio State University (GO BUCKEYES) and became specialized in Internal Medicine in 2013. I was blessed to serve as the 2016 president of the Academy of Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians.
I spent 15 years working on the floor in busy specialty hospitals. In 2017 I stepped away from the floor and accepted a position with Amerivet Veterinary Partners as a Director of Operations. It was a wonderful experience and I learned so much.
However, my heart belongs to Retention/Growth & Development, so in January of 2020 I moved to the that Department. I am now focused on education/development and empowerment of the entire veterinary team.
I also lecture and teach all over the Country. I love to teach and help young technicians develop and find their niche. I lecture of various topics, ranging from Team Utilization to Diabetic Educator Programs.
I have also authored many articles, a book chapter and wrote the AAHA Diabetic Educator course. For complete details of my work, experience, associates and contributions, please see my CV.
What do I do when I am not working??? hmmmmm that doesn’t happen too often. I get to live in Colorado, so I really enjoy exploring this gorgeous state. I like to spend time with my family and going on adventures with my husband. Our dogs, Emmy (5yrs) and Joey (14...yes, it says 14) are our fur babies and bring us so much love and laughter.
Thank you again for checking out my page. I look forward to be part of your network and sharing my knowledge, experiences and adventures with you all.
